By using Grafolyn you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, not to be impressive. If anything is unclear, ask us and we will explain it or reword it.
1. What this service is
Grafolyn provides a free online graphing calculator and accompanying educational material at https://grafolyn.com. It is offered as a tool for learning and everyday work.
2. Using the site
You may use Grafolyn for any lawful purpose, including commercial work. You agree not to:
- Interfere with the site's operation or attempt to disrupt access for others.
- Use automated means to place unreasonable load on the service, such as scripted bulk requests.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or its infrastructure.
- Use the site in a way that breaks the law where you are, or that infringes anyone's rights.
- Use it during an examination or assessment where it is not permitted. That is between you and your institution, but we would rather say it plainly.
3. Your work belongs to you
Expressions you enter, data you input, and graphs you produce are yours. We claim no ownership of them and no licence over them.
You may use graphs exported from Grafolyn freely, including in schoolwork, publications, presentations and commercial material, with no attribution required. An attribution is welcome but never expected.
Because everything runs on your device, we do not receive or store your work. That also means we cannot recover it for you.
4. Our content
The written guides, the site design, the software and the Grafolyn name are our property and are protected by copyright and other rights. You may link to any page freely, and quote short passages with attribution. You may not republish substantial portions, or reproduce the guides in bulk, without permission. Ask us; we are usually happy to agree.
5. No warranty
Grafolyn is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We have taken considerable care with the mathematics and test it extensively, but we do not warrant that results are free from error. Any numerical computation involves approximation, and results should be checked before being relied upon for anything consequential. See the disclaimer for detail on where the limits lie.
We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or available at any particular moment.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grafolyn and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Because the service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to it is limited to zero.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case the above applies to the extent permitted there.
7. Third-party services and links
The site uses third-party services for analytics and advertising, described in the privacy policy. Pages may link to other websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or their privacy practices.
8. Advertising
The site displays advertising. We do not select individual advertisements and their appearance is not an endorsement. If an advertisement appears deceptive or inappropriate, please tell us and we will report it.
9. Trademarks
Grafolyn is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Texas Instruments Incorporated, Desmos Studio PBC, the College Board, ACT Inc., or any calculator manufacturer or examination board.
Product names referred to on this site are the trademarks of their respective owners, and are used only to identify and describe those products for the reader's benefit.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the review date below. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
11. Termination
We may restrict or withdraw access to anyone who breaches these terms or misuses the service. You may stop using the site at any time; since there is no account, nothing needs cancelling.
